St. Matthew Catholic Church

No matter which Sunday Mass you attend at St. Matthew’s, you will hear wonderful music. There are six weekend Liturgies, each supported by a different choir, and having its own style and spirit

5:00 p.m. Vigil Mass includes traditional, contemporary and praise music led by a choir of youth and adults, singing multi-part harmony with accompaniment provided by guitar, flute, trumpet, clarinet, organ and piano.

7:00 p.m. Vigil Mass in Spanish with music lead by Diego Najera. For more information you may call him at 903-234-0406.

8:30 a.m. Mass is led by an adult choir, accompanied by piano and organ. Music selections are traditional and contemporary.

10:30a.m. Mass is led by an adult choir singing traditional,contemporary and praise music, accompanied by organ, piano and guitar.

01:00 p.m. Mass in Spanish is led by a Hispanic Choir including voices, guitar, brass and piano. For more information on this choir please contact Max Garcia or  Camelia.rios05@yahoo.com

6:00 p.m. The Youth Mass lead by a choir of youth in grades 8-12 and adults, singing Praise music in a contemporary style. They are accompanied by guitars, percussion, flute, clarinet, trumpet, and piano.

Our Music Ministry at St. Matthew’s presently has over 100 dedicated singers and instrumentalists. Our main purpose is to praise God joyfully and with a humble spirit. New members are always gladly welcomed. Each choir is like a family of its own, and many lasting friendships have formed within these groups. If you love to sing or play an instrument, consider joining a choir. The ability to read music is helpful, but not required. You don’t need to have a solo quality voice. We need choral participants as well as soloists. If you play an instrument, you should be fairly proficient. Our limited practice times are not conducive to those beginning to learn an instrument.

and on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. in the chapel.

Practices on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the church
and on Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel.
